We all know that it's smart to start with easy knitting patterns when you're a beginner. But, frankly, how excited can you get about knitting acrylic potholders? This article will give you a few tips to start knitting happily in no time. You don't have to frustrate yourself with a complicated pattern to make something you can get excited about.

USE GREAT MATERIALS

Even a very simple garment can be wonderful if it's knit from superb materials. Wool is by far the most satisfying fiber to knit with for the beginner. It's resilient, it has natural elasticity, and it's forgiving of a beginner's varying tension. And of course it comes in a wonderful variety of colors and styles. Worsted weight is good for beginners--anything smaller than that and you'll lose patience waiting for results. One nice basic yarn you can find in many shops is Lamb's Pride, which is a wool/mohair blend that is strong and lustrous, and comes in fabulous colors. Wool/silk blends are also good for beginners, but can be expensive.

If you're in a very warm climate and you prefer to start with cotton, that's fine, but it's just not as satisfying to knit with. Cotton should be knit a little tighter than wool, so go with a slightly smaller needle as a general rule. Your knitting shop will be happy to recommend a good size needle for the yarn you pick out.

I strongly recommend against acrylic yarn--it's hard on your hands and just not satisfying, even if it feels nice in the shop.

(By the way, at the start, don't get too hung up on gauge, which is how many stitches per inch you get. Your first projects are all about developing your rhythm as a knitter and making the two basic stitches second-nature.)

START WITH A "NO-PATTERN" PATTERN

Once you have your tools and have picked out some great yarn, assuming you know the two basic stitches (knit and purl), you're ready to get going.

(If you don't know how to knit at all, and you don't have someone nearby who can show you the basics, don't despair. This is a good eBook that will walk you through everything A-Z so you can get started right away.)

For your first projects, knit simple pieces that don't depend on a lot of measurement or precision. You might knit a nice pashmina-style stole--just cast on about 200-250 stitches and knit in garter stitch (that means you knit every row, no purling) until it's 24" wide or so. You can keep this from getting boring by either working with a yarn you adore or working in stripes of several wonderful colors. (If you use several colors, make sure they're all the same brand and type of yarn. In other words, you'll want 3-5 skeins of Lamb's Pride or whatever other specific yarn you pick, in different colors.)

With circular needles, you can make a great tubular scarf that pulls up to cover your head when it's cold. (Like an oversized turtleneck, without the sweater part.) Again, cast on about 200-250 stitches, but this time join them in a circle (your knitting shop can help), then just knit until you have about 24" and cast off. Remember that you want a nice, soft yarn if you're creating something to be worn by your face. You also knit every round on this one, but because it's circular knitting, you end up with plain old knit (called stockinette) instead of garter stitch. Stockinette curls at the edges, unlike garter stitch that lies flat. Stockinette also drapes a little better.

If you're ready to branch out beyond simple rectangles and tubes, check out my Squidoo lens on http://www.squidoo.com/hipsterknitting/" target="_new">easy knitting patterns for hipsters that includes resources for everything from online yarn stores to an amazing new book with a pattern for a knitted Mohawk.

Happy knitting!

Winter Steelhead Fishing

Winter Steelhead Fishing

As the temperatures dip below freezing and the snow begins to fly around the Great Lakes region some fisherman put their fishing equipment away, however some fisherman are just getting geared up to brave the cold and take on the rivers of the great lakes in pursuit of steelhead. Fishing in the winter on the Great Lakes can be brutal to say the least, but it also can be very rewarding. Often fishing in the winter means smaller crowds, bigger fish, and more fish. So what do you need to know to go fishing in the winter and what is the most productive way to fish in the winter months. You only need to know two words warmth and slow.

First, lets talk about warmth and how to stay warm when fishing when the temperature drops below freezing. A must have is 5 mm neoprene waders boot foot preferably these boots are heavier than the Gore-Tex and Fly-Weights, but when you are standing in water with ice floating on it you will be glad to have them. Next, you have to learn how to layer clothing and what types of clothing to layer.

Insulated Underwear - Spend the extra bucks for the good pair. This is probably the most important layer you'll have on.

Fleece Wading Pants - There are many different kinds of fleece wading pants but find a pair that feels thick and have straps at the cuffs to keep them from rolling up.

Socks - I have found that there isn't any better sock than wool. Always put a base layer sock on first under your wading pants then pull the wool sock over the bottom of your fleece pants.

Turtle Neck - A thick cotton turtleneck or wool turtleneck sweater can't be beat as your middle layer.

Fleece Coat - Get yourself a really good fleece coat or jacket, one with waterproof arms is really nice it will help you completely dry.

Wading Jacket - Find a wadding jacket that is 100% waterproof preferably Gore-Tex, some wadding jackets have neoprene cuffs to keep water out.

Gloves - A good set of fingerless gloves with a mitten cover are great, they will allow you to tie your hooks and then cover your fingers when needed.

Head - Cover your head with something warm, most of the heat lost from your body is from your head. A Mad Bomber hat is a great addition; they may look a little funny but ask anyone who spends time in the cold how they feel. Or just a good fleece toboggan will work.

All right you're dressed for the conditions, but how do you go about catching a Steelhead when the water is freezing cold and fish don't want to move to bit. The technique is rather simple you need to slow your bait presentation way down if you are fly-fishing. The best way to do this is by adding more weight to your line and then dragging the bottom, which will slow your bait slower than the current. This presentation works best when the fish are extremely lethargic and not wanting to move too much. You need to cast your fly upstream then mend your line toward the fly to keep it moving slowly along the bottom. You will get snagged a lot but you will catch fish. Flies that seem to work the best when fishing cold weather are egg patterns, egg sucking leeches, sucker spawn, and nymphs.

Now the most important part of steelhead fishing in the winter is how to find them in the stream. You will want to be fishing the deepest slowest section of the river you are fishing. Fish tend to go to the deepest and slowest sections of a creek and pool up together during the winter months. Often if you find one fish there is a lot more there with it. Fish often hit very lightly in the winter so be mindful of your line and feel for the lightest of bites.

In conclusion, winter steelheading is great time, but you need to take some precautions to hit the stream in the cold of winter. Be extremely careful when fishing in the winter there is often ice on the banks and you can take a nasty spill. Also be careful when wading a fall in ice cold water can be deadly, if you do fall in get to your car and get dry quickly. Also ice build up on the guides of your rod can be a real pain, I have found that by either using lip balm, Vaseline, or even WD-40 can help keep the ice off. So instead of putting your fishing equipment away this winter keep your gear out and give winter steelheading a try. Just stay warm, safe, and most importantly have fun

How to Wear Scarves to Accent Your Wardrobe

ItemTitle

Are you looking for an accessory that can add a splash of color to your wardrobe, be worn in a myriad of different styles and look equally as good with a sundress or a turtleneck and jeans? And would it be nice if celebrates were wearing this magical accessory as well? Then it's time to consider the fashionable scarf.

Scarves are classic accessories that are showing up in all the fashion capitals of the world, including Paris, New York or California. They come in fabrics from silk and cashmere, to cotton and acrylic. Their shapes range from simple squares to long, plush fringe trimmed strips. Scarves are not only attractive and stylish accessories, but they're functional as well.

A thin light weight square scarf can be folded into a triangle and worn around the neck with the ends tied in back. To give it a less western-cowboy look, attach the tails together with a scarf pin, or tuck the tip down under the neck of a blouse. This is a great way to make a low-cut summer top transition into fall and winter. Add a coordinating blazer, a pair of long metallic earrings and even jeans will look dressy.

A narrow rectangular scarf is a great way to accentuate a summer or winter jacket or blazer, and add color and interest to a neutral business ensemble. While a wide scarf in cashmere or silk can add a touch of sophistication to a sundress or t-shirt.

Hand-knit scarves have come a long way from the heavy itchy results of grandma's knitting needles. Today designer knit scarves come in lacy designs made of specialty yarns such as pillow soft baby alpaca and ribbon infused silk blends.

Hollywood stars use long knit scarves to pull their outfits together or add a splash of color to an otherwise monochromatic ensemble. Try winding a knit scarf loosely around the neck and letting the ends hand down the front for a slimming effect, or wrap it around the shoulders to dress up a trendy shift.

When it comes to scarves, the more interesting and unusual the better. A few places to look for unique styles and patterns are specialty or ethnic shops and knit boutiques. Even thrift stores can be a treasure trove of interesting possibilities. When shopping, it's important to be aware of quality. Look carefully for snags, even in new scarves, and when buying handmade items, be certain that the maker is skilled in their craft.

A beautiful and rich colored scarf is a classic accessory that never goes out of style.

Top 7 Tips To Treat And Prevent Windburn

Top 7 Tips To Treat And Prevent Windburn

ItemTitle

Windburn which, truth be told, is a misnomer. Yes, it looks like a burn. And it certainly feels like a burn. But it is really a drying effect. Windburn results from a combination of cold wind and low humidity, which depletes the oil layer on your skin. As you might have guessed, folks who live in warm southern climates are virtually immune to windburn, unless they take a trip north in the dead of winter. The condition is most likely to affect those who spend time outside in cold, dry, windy weather. And keep in mind that any exposed, unprotected part of your body is vulnerable, not just your face. A windburn can hurt just as much as a sunburn, but fortunately it is far less serious. It will usually fade away on its own in a couple of days, provided you take proper care of the affected skin. Here are some tips that you can consider to adopt to speed the healing process.

1. Bundle Up

When you head outdoors in wintry weather, every exposed part of your body needs to be covered. Wear gloves to protect your hands and a stocking cap or hood to protect your ears. Better yet, cover your entire head with a ski mask.

2. Don't Stick Out Your Neck

The most vulnerable square inch on your body is the front part of your neck. The skin there is very thin, and it doesn't get much protection. It is recommended wrapping a terry-cloth towel around your neck. It is actually much better than a wool scarf. Wool is irritating and more absorbent. You can also wear a turtleneck, of course. Just make sure it is made of cotton, not wool or a synthetic fabric.

3. Pop A Pill For The Pain

Aspirin will ease any soreness and discomfort associated with windburn. And because it is an anti-inflammatory, it will help speed the healing process as well.

4. Lay It On Your Kisser

Your lips are especially vulnerable to windburn. Make sure you give them extra protection. It is recommended using a lip balm with sunscreen such as Blistex or Chap Stick.

5. Put Your Best Face Forward

If you know you are going to be spending time outside in conditions that produce windburn, then don't wash your face or shave beforehand. Doing so moves your skin's natural oils, which offer protection against the environment.

6. Stay Moist

Be sure to moisturize windburned skin frequently, perhaps three or four times a day. The best moisturizer is petroleum jelly, but most people don't find it cosmetically pleasing. Choose a product that you are comfortable with, as long as it is not highly scented. Fragrances can cause skin irritations.

7. Don't Forget Your Sunscreen

Just because it is not swimsuit weather does not mean that you can't get a sunburn. The sun is often a factor in complaints of windburn. It is recommended wearing a moisturizer and a sunscreen on days that you are out in cold, dry, windy weather. Look for a product with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15.

How To Stop A Tickly Cough - My Tricks To Stop The Coughing Fits

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

During the colder months, a lot of people are complaining about tickly cough. If you are bothered with your coughing fits, then it is time to find a few tips on how to stop a tickly cough.

I am absolutely aware of the irritating signs of this type of cough. Your body is trying to cough as a way to relieve the itchy feeling inside your throat. And when you least expect it, a coughing fit may suddenly strike. Is it not too embarrassing when you are talking to a client or delivering a presentation? There's got to be a way to finally stop this tickly cough. So, what are the tricks on how to stop a tickly cough?

Let us first start with your clothing. You need to be as comfortable as possible when you have cough. Hence, try to wear a sweater or a shirt with turtleneck. The important thing is to not feel cold with what you are wearing.

Aside from the clothing, you also need to take a few steps that will prevent making the situation worse. When I have the tickly type of cough, I usually have this urge to cough. The trick I use to avoid this urge would be to keep my throat as moist as possible. How do you do this? I stop drinking cold drinks. In fact, I even stop drinking water.

That's quite shocking, right? I know that a lot of advices would tell you to drink as much water as you can. Yes, I do drink a lot of water but I make sure it is warm. And here is a trick. Try to have a cup of hot tea with honey instead of sugar. Hot tea is my top secret to keeping the coughing fit away for a couple of hours and I drink it all day.

Breathing is also important in keeping the throat moist. I learned that some alternative medicine experts recommend inhaling through the mouth and exhaling through the nose. This will help bring in warm air and will prevent your coughing fits. Do this every half an hour and you keep the throat as moist as possible.

Now, we can go over a few remedies that are sure winners and proven to work. Using the correct remedies is how to stop the tickly cough as soon as possible. So, where do we start?

The first cough remedy would absolutely be cough drops. Just like a hot cup of tea, this will keep your throat moist all throughout the day. Get a bag of these drops and bring it with you everywhere you go. The medication in these drops will continually help stave off the coughing fits.

Finally, I also advise that you consider Benylin for this type of coughs. This fast and effective liquid medicine is intended both young kids and adults too. Nevertheless, I suggest you consult your doctor with this medicine, especially for children below 2 years old and pregnant women.

These tips are awesome and these are proven to work. But if you are still interested to learn more about how to stop tickly cough, I invite you to check out the website that I recommend below.

Halloween Costume Ideas - 25 Homemade Costumes to Make

Samsung Galaxy

Halloween costumes are fun to create. Many items to use with your Halloween costume can be found in your own home or at your area thrift store. Creating costumes can be inexpensive and lots of fun to make and to wear. You'll find some of these will even work as last minute Halloween costume ideas.

Here are 25 costume ideas to help inspire you to make your own costume this year. It can be pretty simple to put a costume together and after you decide on one, browse the online Halloween retailer's websites for your costume. You may get a few more ideas. Use your imagination and creativity when making a costume, as this makes the costume unique and truly yours.

Dracula: For this scary costume you will need a pair of black pants, a long sleeve white shirt, a black jacket and a white vest. Wear a black cape with a collar and a gold necklace. Slick your hair back with hair gel. Wear pale face make-up, dark eyes and bloody lips with blood also dripping from the mouth and of course, vampire teeth.

A Witch: You will need a long black dress with long sleeves, a witch's hat, black shoes and a broom. Wear green and gray face make-up and dark gray lipstick. A fake wart on your nose would help too. Blacken out some of your teeth for a really ugly effect.

Tom Sawyer: Wear overalls that look worn, a dull plaid shirt and be sure to go bare footed. Place a straw hat on your head and chew on a piece of straw that is somewhat long. You can also add freckles to your checks and make your feet look dirty.

A Genie: You will need a pair of loose-fitting pants that fit tight around the ankles and a halter top or vest to match. Use a brightly colored scarf as a belt tied around the waist. Wear wide bracelets on your arms and large loop earrings. Go barefoot. Make a turban out of fabric and add a large plastic jewel on the front of the turban with fabric glue. If you can't find the pants this outfit calls for, then use a pair of loose-fitting pants and, tie the pants down to your ankles with colorful ribbon and make the pants look puffy.

Instead of a turban, you could pull your hair up into a pony tail on top of your head. Add some bling in your hair. Drape a thin scarf across the bottom part of your face.

Peter Pan: Using dark green fabric, make a tunic that hits above the knee and has a jagged hem and jagged sleeves. Wear opaque black or green tights, a black belt and black shoes. Make a hat using the green fabric and add a feather to the hat. Place a dagger under your belt and you're Peter Pan.

Igor: For this costume you will need a very large lab coat or white long sleeve shirt. Place stuffing into a pillowcase and sew it into the inside of the shirt for the hump. (You could also just use Velcro to keep it in place). Wear a pair of raggedy pants with holes in the knee areas. For a belt, use a rope and tie it in the front. An old and dull looking t-shirt that is ripped at the collar, sleeve and hem looks great. Carry a jar of brown colored water (use food dye) with a chunk of cauliflower in it for the brain. Shave your head and walk hunched over... shaving your head is optional.

Jack and the Beanstalk: For this costume, wear all green and wrap wired silk ivy all over yourself from head to toe. Using a straw hat, glue cotton balls on the hat for a cloud effect. A sprig of ivy should come out of the top of the hat. Make a tunic for a Ken doll and Ken becomes Jack, and you are the beanstalk. Carry a bag of beans to hand out.

Octomom: This is a really fun one. Wear long dark hair and big very red lips. Attach eight baby dolls all over yourself and you are ready to go.

Indiana Jones: For this costume you will need a brown hat with a brim. Use a rope for the whip and attach a handle - or use a jump rope, pull off one of the handles and spray paint the rope and handle. Wear brown paints, a tan shirt and brown boots. Wear a leather jacket. Use a rough sponge and brown makeup to create beard stubble. Add a few lines of dirt around your cheekbones, temples and under the jaw line.

A Sorcerer: For a sorcerer, use a long black or dark colored robe with long drooping sleeves and a robe belt (use a drapery tieback for the belt). Hang mystical items from the belt such as a pouch, herbs, crystals, and carry a staff.

Mrs. Claus: For this cute outfit glue cotton balls on a shower cap for the hair. Wear a white button down shirt, long white skirt, a red apron, red and white striped stockings and wire rim glasses on the tip of your nose. Add rosy red cheeks and you're ready.

A Hunter: This one is really easy. Wear camouflage clothing, a hunter's vest with lots of pockets, a camouflage hat, gloves and rubber boots. Carry binoculars, a canteen and a fake rifle.

A Devil: Wear red tights and a red turtleneck shirt. Make pointed ears out of red felt. Make the horns out of red felt with wire inserted or foam painted red and attach them to a headband. Make the tail out of felt with an arrow shape at the end and insert wire into the felt. Cover all the exposed skin with red body paint. Take a black brow pencil and draw your eyebrows at a sharp outward angle. Color your lips red or black.

Cat Burglar: This guy wears all black. Wear black leggings, a black turtleneck, black stocking cap, black socks and shoes, black eye mask and black gloves. Hang some tools from a belt and wear around your waist. Carry a sack over your shoulder.

Tinkerbell: Cut the hem of a short green dress into a jagged pattern. Put your hair in a bun and wear very little makeup (mainly, a little blush, lip gloss and mascara). Wear green flats with pompoms on top. Wear little fairy wings and carry a wand and a big smile.

The Easter Bunny:To be the Easter Bunny wear white sweatpants and a white hooded sweatshirt. Using wire and white and pink felt, make the bunny ears and attach them to the hood of the sweatshirt. Cut an oval shape out of the pink felt for the bunny's chest and attach it to the front of the sweatshirt. Create a bunny nose and whiskers using makeup and wear white gloves. Carry a basket filled with colorful plastic eggs.

A Soldier: Wear military clothing such as: fatigues, hat or helmet, black boots, dog tags, utility belt with canteen and a fake grenade. Camouflage your face and carry a fake gun.

Teen Wolf: Wear a basketball costume and headband. Buy some fake fur from a craft store and using spirit gum attach it to any exposed skin. Wear rubber fingernails and high top tennis shoes.

A Rapper: For this hip guy you will wear baggy jeans that sag down your hips, a t-shirt and hoodie, a baseball cap tilted on your head, gold chain, big watch, a grill on your teeth (silver gum wrapper will work for the grill) and cool tennis.

Black Eyed P: This costume is super quick and easy. Wear a white t-shirt and with a black marker draw the letter P on it (be sure it is a large P). Using black face make-up, give yourself one black eye. Now you are a black eyed P.

Circus Clown: Wear coveralls over a brightly colored long sleeve shirt, converse tennis shoes (the older the better) and a clown wig or color your own hair with colored spray. Paint your face white and create a clown look that you like. Carry a noise maker and spray silly string.

School Crossing Guard: This one is quick and easy. You will need to wear dark colored clothes (slacks and button down shirt), a whistle around the neck and carry a stop sign.

Rock 'n Roll Star: All you need to be a rock star is a pair of leather pants, leather jacket or vest, spiked dog collar, fake tattoos, long haired wig or spiked hair, and sunglasses. Be sure and carry a toy guitar.

A Used Car Salesman: Slick your hair back using lots of hair cream. Wear a plaid polyester suit, a button down shirt and several neck chains. Hand out business cards you made yourself and tell people you can get them a great deal.

Marge Simpson: Wear a Marge Simpson wig or make a wig out of blue yarn. Wear a green tube type dress with elastic around the top, orange flat shoes and a bead necklace. Use make up to color your skin yellow.

Child's Halloween Cat Costume Idea and Face Paint Recipe

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

What will you dress your small child as this Halloween? If your little kid is over three years old, then you may be racking your brain to come up with another clever Halloween costume idea. Rather than struggling with sewing an elaborate costume to match the newest preschool fad, how about creating a charming yet simple and traditional costume? People will go 'awww how cute' when they see your little sweetie decked out in our 'Easy Child's Cat Costume' idea. Make the effect even more adorable with the appropriate face paint as well. Don't spend a fortune on face paint when you can use our 'Easy Halloween Face Paint' recipe to doll up your darling this Halloween.

Keep your child safe this Halloween by avoiding using face masks that can hinder your child's vision and potentially cause an accident. Read on below to get started planning your kid's easy cat costume and face paint.

Easy Child's Halloween Cat Costume Idea

Piece of Cardboard for cat ears

Felt that matches your leggings and turtleneck

Plastic headband

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Long piece of fabric or felt to make a tail

Large safety pins

Dark turtleneck

Dark leggings

Large sweatshirt (optional)

Fabric paint or fabric pens (optional)

Draw triangle shapes about 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide on the cardboard. Cut out the ears. Cover with felt using hot glue. If you use dark brown or black as your turtleneck and legging color then you can use a basic tortoiseshell or black headband. If not, then cover the headband with the same color felt as your cat ears. Glue the ears to the headband. You can easily make a cat tail by using a long piece of fabric rolled into a long tube and filled with stuffing and then hot glued at the seam. You can pin the tail on the legging seat or attach with Velcro for safety.

You can either make your cat a 'skinny' kitty with just the turtleneck and leggings, or you can add a sweatshirt in an accent color to give some added depth and warmth to the costume and your child while outside. A cute idea if using a sweatshirt is to take some fabric paints or paint pens and write cute little sayings on the shirt in whimsical lettering. Write things like 'meeoow' or 'Happy Meow-o-leen' etc. You can also draw little mouse shapes and cat paw prints. Finish your child's easy cat costume by painting a simple cat face on your child's face. Use our face paint recipe to create a cat nose, mouth outline and whiskers. If you want you can cover your child's face with a light base coat and then paint the details on. Have a medium and a small liner paint brush for different size details.

Easy Halloween Face Paint Recipe

1/2 tsp cold cream

1/2 cup

1/2 tsp water

Different colors of food coloring

Mix cornstarch, cold cream, water, and enough drops of food coloring to make the color vivid in a cup. If you're making several different colors then have more cups available. Stir well and add more cornstarch if too runny.

How to Dress to Look Thinner- 28 Tips You Can Use Today

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

Today's fashions make it easier than ever to appear more slender, no matter what size you are. Here are 28 instant ways to appear thinner just by making small changes to the way you dress.

Dress According to Your Body Type

The type of clothes that will be most slenderizing will depend on your particular body type. Are you heavier on the top or on the bottom? Are you an hourglass or are you fairly straight from your shoulders to your knees? Once you have taken an inventory of your pluses and minuses, it is just a matter of emphasizing the positive and de-emphasizing the negative.

Here are some tips for each body type.

If you are heavier on the top:

- Choose tops with a loose fit, which then slim down to hug the hips and waist.

- Opt for thin fabrics, such as cotton or cotton jersey, which won't add bulk.

- Create the illusion of length by sticking to one color, down to the shoes.

- Choose long jackets without shoulder pads.

- Try a pleated skirt to bring the eye down to your lower half, and don't be afraid of shorter hem lengths.

If you are heavier on the bottom:

- Even out your frame with small shoulder pads.

- Wear dark pants or stockings.

- Experiment with vertical lines and patterns.

- Wear long tops that go past your hips.

- Wear prints only on the top.

- Look for jackets, tailored suits and shirtwaist dresses with straight, classic cuts.

If you're not-so-curvy:

- Add dimension with patterns.

- Try loose flowery clothing and draw attention towards your face with colorful earrings and scarves.

If you're an hourglass:

- Wear fabrics that show off your figure by draping loosely.

- Emphasize your waist with a belt.

- Show off some cleavage with a V-neck.

- Celebrate your curves. Lots of women would love to be voluptuous. I, for one, encourage you to flaunt it (at the level you feel comfortable doing so, of course.)

Slenderizing Tips for all Body Types:

- Stand tall, elongate your neck, and square your shoulders. Good posture and proper breathing are two of the quickest ways you can look and feel good, whether you're a size 2 or size 22.

- Instead of covering your neck with turtleneck tops and sweaters, which can make your face look wider, opt for V-neck tops and dresses that enhance your facial features.

- Straight legged pants tend to create a leaner look than flared bell-bottoms.

- If you are 5 feet 4 and under, look for dresses that hit just above or at the knee.

- Empire waists create a clean, elongated look.

- Experiment with eye-catching jewelry and accessories.

- To create the illusion of length, think monochromatic. If you have a black outfit, for example, and you wear a white belt, you have just broken the smooth, lean line and created the illusion of bulk. To minimize this effect, wear a dark belt and dark stockings with a dark outfit. Of course, it's no fun to dress all in one color (unless it's fuschia), so this is one rule that's meant to be broken. You can add funky accessories, such as handbags and shoes, while maintaining the illusion of length.

- Be careful with pleated pants, which tend to add bulk to the mid-section.

- Try an A-line. A-line dresses have always been at the top of the list for hiding those areas that cause the most concern for women.

- When choosing a swimming suit, there are lots of chic styles available now that come with a skirt. If you feel more comfortable concealing your hips and thighs, do so. I started wearing a skirted suit years ago, and I love no longer feeling self-conscious at the pool or the beach. Plus, it gives me the flexibility to be active in my suit (which usually entails chasing my kids) without worrying about exposing myself.

- Wear proper undergarments. There was a time when women had great difficulty finding appropriate-sized bras, but today there is a wide variety of sexy undergarments for all women who want to feel sensuous and comfortable. Plenty of specialty stores will help you find just the right bra or even have your bra custom sized. Undergarments that fit right will make all the difference in your look, and they can really help you to feel more comfortable in the skin you're in.

Edit 2: It appears that a lot of you know about docking. My viewers intrigue me. Edit: Someone has already claimed that it's called "docking." I'm not going to confirm this, but you can. I have no idea if the described physical act is something that's already real. The theory came about in 2001 while having a conversation with friends. I have yet to hear or read this theory repeated since then. Also, I asked people on Twitter if they wanted a disgusting/disturbing video; 99% of them said yes. Choosing the Proper Thanksgiving Day Attire

Samsung Galaxy

Choosing the perfect attire for Thanksgiving will allow you to feel confident, comfortable and stylish at the same time. You can use colors, latest styles and staples of the season as your base. Be creative and feel free to create a style that looks great on you. Here I discussed a few ways to find the perfect Thanksgiving outfits for you.

Be Creative

First and foremost, think about your personal style. Determine which looks will suit you best-colors, lace, belts and fringes. Check out the outfits currently present in your wardrobe and then start upgrading it with some new styles. The best way to look great on Thanksgiving Day is to properly plan your outfit.

Fall Colors

Find out what colors you want to wear. Some fashionistas opt for brown that looks good on photos, complements various skin tones and hair colors. It is better to opt for gray, black, plum, navy blue-as they are appropriate for the holiday season. For getting a more attractive and dazzling look for Thanksgiving, you can also choose fall colors such as yellow, orange, red and teal green.

Styling and Layering

Dress according to the weather conditions and see how warmly you need to dress for Thanksgiving Day. For cooler weather, layer your outfits with turtleneck cardigans, long coats, jackets and V-neck sweaters. Lightweight sweaters, cardigans, blazers, winter jackets and vests are a great choice for fall season. However, if the weather is not too cold then you can go for knit shirts, sweater dresses, button-down shirts, polo shirts, frill dresses, and stylish blouses. These items will give you a smart look, making your holidays more special.

Shoes

Don't overlook your shoes. If you are planning to wear a blouse with black pants, then you must go for high heeled shoes. Knit shirts, V-neck sweaters can easily be paired with straight-legged jeans. You can opt for skirts, slacks, shorts in dark colors, if you do not feel comfortable in jeans. Boots always look great with jeans. If you put on a sweater dress, tights, skirts, or leggings, then pair them with ballet flats or knee-high boots.

Jewelry and Accessories

Accentuate fall fashion. A belt will look great with a fitted jacket. Moreover, you can enhance your features with jewelry. A small pair of hoops, dangle earrings, or studs will complement the outfit. Pick a gold or silver necklace, small charm or a longer chain-style necklace to look more stunning.

Considering the above mentioned ways will surely help you find the perfect outfits for Thanksgiving Day. Happy Holidays!
